AUS-GEL XTRA is a modified, premium grade Sodium Montmorillonite imported from Wyoming USA, which has been finely ground and processed to ensure ease of mixing and superior mud making qualities in fresh water.

AUS-GEL XTRA is recommended as a high yield viscosifier for building a mud system with excellent flow properties and low filtrate loss in fresh water. The product makes an economical low solids drilling fluid which has specific application in horizontal directional drilling and water wells with permeable sections or poorly consolidated sands and gravels.

AUS-GEL XTRA increases hole cleaning capabilities and promotes hole stability in unconsolidated and caving formations.

AUS-GEL XTRA can be used for making gel-foam for air drilling.

Under normal drilling conditions, add 15-30kg/m3 to fresh water.
In unconsolidated formations, loose sands and gravels add 35-45kg/m3 to fresh water.
To improve hole cleaning, core recovery and increase hole stability add 10-15kg/m3 to fresh water.
AUS-GEL XTRA should preferably be mixed by adding slowly through a jet funnel or a high speed stirrer. If such equipment is not available, sprinkle AUS-GEL XTRA slowly into water close to pump suction.

AUS-GEL XTRA is packaged in 25kg multiwall, water resistant paper sacks.
