DESCRIPTION Clay Bore is
a white granular polymer that is 100% active. When mixed
with fresh water it provides good viscosity,
lubrication, fragile gelation, and encapsulates the clay
particles reducing the possibility of clays swelling and
becoming sticky. Clay Bore has specific applications in
the horizontal drilling and trenching areas.
APPLICATION Clay Bore provides an
excellent one sack boring fluid, which inhibits clays
from swelling and sloughing, and provides good carrying
capacity to help suspend and transport cuttings. When
used with Aus-gel or Aus-Ben, Clay Bore will aid in
binding loose sand and gravel together and stabilize the
drill hole. This product can be used either on its own
or with the whole range of Australian Mud Company’s
horizontal directional drilling products.
ADVANTAGES
-
Effective – mixes rapidly in fresh
to brackish water with minimum shear.
-

excellent viscosity at a minimum concentration. High
activity reduces freight costs.
-
Environmentally Acceptable –
Non-hazardous and non-toxic. Will not ferment.
USAGE Under normal drilling
conditions.
- 0.5 – 0.75 kg/m3 To
stabilise swelling clays and shales.
- 0.75 – 1.0 kg/m3 Clay Bore
should be mixed by slowly adding through a jet funnel or
