Bio-Vis is a modified Guar Gum in the form of a granular powder. It has excellent viscosifying characteristics while at the same time provides some filtration control.

Bio-Vis organic polymer is a highly effective viscosifier in either fresh or salty water and forms a complete mud system by itself.
Bio-Vis is recommended for use in rotary drilling where good hole cleaning is required.

Versatility
Effective in hard and salty waters Bio-Vis furnishes both carrying capacity and filtration control.
Potassium Chloride can be mixed into the system to provide some inhibition and shale stabilization.
It may also be used as a foam extender or as a stiff foam additive.
Note
If Bio-Vis mud is to be used for a long period of time, than a preservative should be added to prevent fermentation.
This will not occur if the water is saturated with salt or the pH is high.

When mixing Bio-Vis it is preferable to mix at a pH of less than 7 then to bring the pH up to 9 with the addition of caustic soda or soda ash.
To prepare low solids mud system 4 – 6 kg/ 1000 litres.
If diesel or soluble oil is not objectionable Bio-Vis can be slurried for ease of mixing.

Bio-Vis is packaged in 15 kg plastic pails.
